About The Book:
The book titled “Shravanabelagola: Jaina Cultural heritage Area” which covers the Jaina monuments of Shravanabelagola and of important Jaina sites around is written by Professor Shrinivas V. Padigar, a well-known art-historian and epigraphist of Karnataka. It includes the historical and legendary account of the various monuments situated on the two rock hills called Chikkabetta and Doddabetta in addition to the monuments located in the town and in the sites of Jinanathapura, Hale Belagola and Kambadahalli. Lavishly illustrated with drawings and colour photographs, the book is an excellent companion to pilgrims or tourists visiting Shravanabelagola. The photographs are by Mr. Muralidhar N.
